Eric Villeneuve has been involved in the arts for almost 25 years. In early 2000, he turned his attention to music, co-founding the legendary local Montreal band Plywood ¾. He went on to produce several albums by major artists on the Quebec music scene. In the course of his career, he has had the chance to rub shoulders with some of today’s leading artists, both in technical assistance for the installation of 1%, and in his role as technical director at the Quartier des Spectacles. During his time at the Daily tous les jours art and design studio, he had the chance to collaborate on the creation of a work made of plastic, permanently installed at the Pointe-à-Callière museum and entitled La Montée. On the strength of this experience, he returned to his native Lac St-Jean. He moved into a large studio adjacent to an up-and-coming contemporary art gallery. The elvé collection has officially supported his work since 2021.
