Pauline Rodrigue

Based in Montreal, Pauline became acquainted with art history and various mediums such as drawing, oil painting, pastel, ink and watercolour in 1974. Through all these experiences, she realized that her attraction lies in painting and abstract art. Her passion for experimenting with mixed techniques aligns with her approach, which is based on exploring organic forms, vibrant hues and a sense of fluidity to capture the essence of the world around us.

Pauline’s work reflects her mastery of various mediums, including acrylic, watercolour and collage. Her small-scale paintings reflect her meticulous attention to detail, with each layer of paint revealing new textures, colours and compositions.

Originally from the rural countryside of Beauce, Pauline draws her inspiration from nature which she has extensively observed and invites you, through her art, to rediscover its beauty. Her paintings evoke a sense of nostalgia and gentleness, with abstract and semi-abstract interpretations of natural forms. From the study of the spontaneity of movement to the explosion of colour, her compositions have a hypnotic and captivating fluidity. The transparency and fluidity of the mediums she uses add a layer of intrigue to her paintings, inviting the viewer to explore the different textures and compositions that make up each piece.

Her deep understanding of nature, combined with her sense of experimentation and movement, translates into paintings that are sometimes figurative, sometimes abstract, but always compelling, leaving a lasting impression.
