Wandering the streets of Montreal, you might have seen this burly, bald-headed man wearing a wrestler’s leotard in different colors. Presented in the form of collages on the walls of the city, this character seems ready to come out of its hinges.
Mistake Project, in a Pop Art style, thus honored Maurice Vachon (1929-2013), alias Mad Dog, famous wrestler and French-speaking Montreal wrestler, whose romantic life is worth the detour, from his 18 years Olympian athlete at the Games of London and then having delivered more than 10,000 fights.
“Beware Montreal! Here we come!” could exclaim Milou in a new fictitious opus of Tintin in Quebec. Original collages of the mythical reporter and his inseparable fox terrier also appeared in the summer of 2021 in the urban landscape.
The collective Mistake Project defines itself, not without humour, as “the two most powerful unknown street artists”. From this illustrious character, Mistake Project also produces works on canvas, by collage and digital work, to the delight of urban art lovers.
