Alex Grilanc (GRiLS) is originally from the Blue Mountains, Australia, but settled in Montreal. He was classically trained at the National Art School in Sydney and continues to supplement his practice with graffiti and murals. Her work ranges from small-scale painting to creating large-scale murals. The concepts of his paintings often have a social and/or political message. As a freelance artist, he has produced many murals for public and private organisations, and worked for SAMA (street art murals Australia) as one of their artists. He participated in several artist residency programs in Sydney from 2015 to 2017, as well as two programs in Belgrade, Serbia, in 2018. While residing in Montreal, he remained active in various artistic projects, events , exhibitions and festivals. He also had a solo exhibition in 2020 based on a series of works with the theme of consumerism.
